A massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake capable of tremendous damage struck Chile early Saturday, shaking the capital for a minute and a half. Buildings collapsed and phone lines and electricity were down.
A further 8 aftershocks have hit the country the highest of which was 6.9 magnitude. Warning levels have been raised and futher aftershocks are expected which may result in the western coast of Chile suffering a much feared tsunami.
Check back for further news and updates as Al-Khair Foundation begins sending its teams into Chile.

Dear team members of IQRA TV, Al-Khair Foundation, all respected donors and well wishers Al-Khair Foundation is starting to send its team of Aid Workers into Chile to assess the damage in the most recent earthquake. Many are feared dead, injured and affected therefore I urge you to continue supporting Al-Khair as your have done in the past.
