It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Al-Khair Peace Convention 2010 and I thank Allah (SWT) for affording me the privilege of sharing this event with you.
As you are aware, Al-Khair Foundation has hosted an annual event ever since its inception in 2003 to share, with the wider community, the achievements of the Foundation. As the Foundation has matured and accomplished more each year, the scale and impact of the celebrations has also grown. In less than 7 years, Al-Khair Foundation is an acknowledged partner to international agencies in the areas of disaster recovery and humanitarian relief.
The Foundation's contribution has been a primary factor in the relief delivered to Kashmir and Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquakes, and the Foundation’s welfare related activities reach worldwide to include high profile visits to Palestine.
A milestone in the growth of the Foundation was achieved recently when Al-Khair joined forces with IQRA TV to establish a worldwide presence and address contemporary issues which affect the lives of Muslims in the West in a practical manner.
All this has thrust Al-Khair Foundation into becoming one of the most progressive, innovative and effective of all the UK charities. My gratitude and immense tribute is due to the unimaginable hard work and dedication of the countless volunteers who have availed themselves to the Foundation to serve both Al-Khair and the community.
The Foundation's growing stature and increasing ability to serve has enabled us to secure the attendance of Dr. Zakir Naik at this year’s events. I know you will share my sentiments when I state that Al-Khair Foundation and Dr. Zakir Naik together will ensure that the APC2010 events are memorable and impacting on the whole worldwide community in promoting the cause of humanity and peace.
I look forward to meeting with you during the course of these events as we undertake and share the future challenges facing Al-Khair Foundation together.
